What Lies Behind the Statistics - New podcast series launched
A podcast series which examines the interpretative work of compiling statistics, and shares conversations with parents, policy makers and practitioners about the implications of findings has been launched.
"What Lies Behind the Statistics?" has been produced by researchers in the Family Justice Data Partnership (Universities of Lancaster and Swansea) who use large-scale anonymised data to ask pressing questions about family justice.
The first episode features Prof Karen Broadhurst speaking to Cecily Atkinson (mother and doctoral student at Lancaster) who shares her views on what more the family justice system can do to prevent, rather than entrench women's vulnerability, given new findings about persistently high rates of recurrent care proceedings.
