Supporting Kinship Care: Ensuring Greater Legal, Financial, Practical & Emotional Support for Kinship Carers & their Children
Prof Judith Harwin has been invited to be a key speaker at Public Policy Exchange’s upcoming webinar Supporting Kinship Care: Ensuring Greater Legal, Financial, Practical & Emotional Support for Kinship Carers & their Children on April 11th 2024, 9.30 – 1pm.
The government published its first ever kinship care strategy in December 2023. Drawing on her research, Judith’s talk will focus on special guardianship and the family justice system, opportunities and challenges.
This event will give local authorities, education providers, legal professionals, charities and other stakeholders the chance to engage with kinship care representatives to understand the needs of kinship carers and their children. It will provide a forum in which to develop solutions to the gaps in support for kinship care and share best practice on how to improve the experience of kinship carers and their children.
