11th March 2019: 15th European Remembrance Day for Victims of Terrorism with the theme ‘Standing Together’
Monday, 11 March 2019, will mark the 15th European Remembrance Day for Victims of Terrorism with the theme ‘Standing Together’. The EU has devoted this day to commemorate all EU citizens becoming victims of terrorism worldwide and people becoming victim on EU soil, as it is the anniversary of the Madrid train bombings that killed 193 persons commuting to work in 2004. Sadly this attack is part of a long strain of terrorist actions inspired by various extremist ideologies impacting innocent people as victim. Also in 2018, terrorist attacks caused fatalities in Trèbes & Carcassonne, Liège and Strasbourg.
With the participation of victims and their families, associations of victims of terrorism, pupils, psychiatrists, emergency services’ representatives and high-level European representatives, participants will show support and pay tribute to all EU citizens becoming victims of terrorism worldwide and people becoming victim on EU soil.
Cath Hill will attend this Remembrance Day to speak about setting up Manchester Survivors Choir and being a victim who has supported others.
